Step 1: Sowing Indoors (March – May)
- Fill pots or trays with compost and firm lightly.
- Sow seeds about 1 cm deep, either individually or in small clusters.
Step 2: Water and Germination
- Water gently to settle.
- Place in a warm, bright spot.
- Keep soil moist but not waterlogged.
Step 3: Growing Seedlings
- Once seedlings are a few cm tall, thin them out so plants are about 5 – 10 cm apart.
- Coriander grows a long taproot, so avoid disturbing seedlings too much.
Step 5: Planting out seedlings
- Harden off indoor-raised seedlings gradually before planting outside.
- Choose a sunny or lightly shaded position.
Step 6: Harvest (June – September)
- Begin harvesting fresh leaves from June onwards.
- Regular picking encourages new growth.
- For seeds, allow some plants to flower and set seed in late summer; harvest when seeds turn brown.
